You have a purpose. There is a reason why you are on this planet at this time in our evolutionary process. There is something that you, and only you, were born to do. You have a voice and it matters that you speak your truth. Passion lies deep in your heart and it's crucial that you use it to facilitate your own healing as well as the healing of others. You being you benefits us all . . . you being You, the greater You, the Divine You, the You that is epic!
When you and I were little kids, we had dreams. Dreams of traveling the world, being happy, living some place fabulous, becoming someone of great importance. Whatever the dream was, it was huge! And we were so certain we would achieve it. We were dreamers and our imagination knew no bounds.
And then . . .
We turned 22, 23, 24 years old and we needed to start making money. We needed a job. So we got a job that paid okay, but not really what we wanted. And then another job opportunity came along, it paid a little more, and we got down the road a little further, but still not really what we wanted. Before we knew it, life had given us a crash course in kids, love, and money and nothing could have prepared us for that. Now how in the hell are we suppose to keep a dream alive when we have a mortgage due and a possible lay off headed our way?
A Course In Miracles tells us that we have "placed our faith in the most trivial and insane symbols; pills, money, "protective" clothing, influence, prestige, being liked, knowing the "right" people, and an endless list of forms of nothingness that you endow with magical powers." Lesson 50
Absolutely we did that, because we didn't know of another way. And because we didn't know another way, we lost touch with who we are, and therefore, trusted more in the laws that govern this physical world than the laws that govern our heart.
ACIM also tells us that trust is the foundation by which our ability to fulfill our function rests. If we dare to choose to reach for our dreams, we have to trust in the One who instilled the dream in our hearts.
If you're reading this, I trust, that there is something tugging at you, calling you, urging you to do. That is your brilliance speaking. That is the genius in you that is wanting to be born and expressed. That is your guidance showing you the way to happiness and freedom from a life of boredom.
If you want to really know what your guides are saying to you, get out a sheet of paper and write down 3 things you really want to do but you're not doing. And once you have written them down, take some baby steps towards doing them. I promise you, if you take one baby step towards your heart's desires, all of Heaven will take ten towards you.
Let go of all the reasons why you think something won't work. Let go of any negative self talk. Let go of needing to know all the details of how things are going to work out before they work out. Guess what? It doesn't work like that. Take action on the steps you are given and more steps will be given to you. They will come in the form of ideas, inspiration, an unexpected opportunity will come up, or new collaborative relationship will be forged. Just be open, be willing to trust the process, and take action towards awakening the dreamer in you.
